Marlon King
King signed for Watford in the year 2005 and was prolific in front of goal during the 2005-06 campaign. King became the first Watford player to score over 20 goals in a single season since Luther Blissett. The Jamaican international’s prolific strike rate help earn Watford a birth in the play offs at the end of the 2005-06 season. They went on to win the play off final against Leeds, 3-0. He was named ‘player of the season,’ and is now an integral member of their 2006-07 premiership team.
Clark Carlisle
Carlisle is no stranger to league football. He has played for Blackpool, QPR and Leeds United and always gives 100% during every match. In the summer of 2005, Aidy Boothroyd purchased the player for a bargain of £100,000 and it proved to be money well spent. In his debut season at the club, he helped them finish in third position and was a rock in the Watford defence which also consisted of Malky Mackay and Jay Demerit. He is now a key member of the Watford starting line up in their 2006-07 premiership campaign.
Gavin Mahon
Mahon began his career playing for Hereford United between 1996 and 1998. Mahon later moved to Brentford in a deal worth £130,000 and it was money well spent by Brentford as his tireless effort paid off. Mahon signed for Watford mid way through the 2001-02 season, he made an immediate impact as he ensured survival in the first division for Watford. Mahon was installed as captain of Watford at the start of the 2005-06 campaign and has not been a let down. His leadership qualities has shone through the entire team and earned them promotion to the premiership in 2006. He has now made over 140 appearances for Watford.
James Chambers
After spending five hard working season at West Brom, Chambers signed for the Hornets in the summer of 2004 and has not been a let down for the club. He signed for £250,000 and has repaid the Hornets with his consistent performances in the heart of their defence. He is a tough tackling defender who rarely lets his sight out of the goal. His great defensive qualities helped Watford reach the premiership for the start of the 2006-07 season. |
